IPTV in Jellyfin: free live TV with a guide
Jellyfin supports IPTV natively: add your M3U tuner and XMLTV guide and watch live channels in every Jellyfin app, free. Setup steps and tips.

Quick answer
In Jellyfin, open the dashboard, go to Live TV, add a tuner of type M3U with your playlist link, then add an XMLTV guide provider with your guide link. Channels and the guide appear in every Jellyfin app, with no paid add-on.
On this page
Jellyfin is a free, open-source media server, and unlike Plex it reads M3U playlists directly. That makes it one of the easiest ways to put IPTV in a home media server.
Add IPTV to Jellyfin
- Open the Jellyfin dashboard and choose Live TV.
- Under Tuner Devices, click add and choose M3U Tuner.
- Paste your M3U link and save.
- Under TV Guide Data Providers, add XMLTV and paste your guide link.
- Map channels if the guide does not match automatically, then refresh the guide.
Every app on this page asks for the same thing: either an Xtream Codes login (server address, username, password) or an M3U playlist link. IPTV Trends sends both as soon as your payment clears. If an app offers both, use the Xtream Codes login: it loads the channel groups and the TV guide together. See M3U vs Xtream Codes.
Tips
- Limit the tuner's simultaneous streams to the number of screens in your plan.
- Turn off transcoding for live TV if your devices can play the stream directly.
- Use IPTV guide sources if a few channels show no guide.
