How to watch IPTV on a TV that is not smart
No smart features on your TV? You can still watch IPTV. Add a streaming stick or box to the HDMI port, install a player and log in. Options for older TVs too.

Quick answer
Plug a streaming stick or box (Fire TV Stick, Google TV device, Android box or Apple TV) into the TV's HDMI port, install an IPTV player on it and enter your login. Very old TVs without HDMI need an HDMI-to-AV converter.
On this page
IPTV does not need a smart TV. The TV is just a screen; the app runs on a small device you plug in. This is often better than a smart TV anyway, because sticks get updates for longer.
What you need
- A TV with an HDMI port (almost every TV since around 2008).
- A streaming device: Fire TV Stick, Google TV device, Android box or Apple TV.
- Your internet connection and your IPTV login.
Setup
- Plug the stick into HDMI and its power adapter into the wall.
- Switch the TV input to that HDMI port.
- Finish the stick setup and connect to Wi-Fi.
- Install a player and enter your login.
Every app on this page asks for the same thing: either an Xtream Codes login (server address, username, password) or an M3U playlist link. IPTV Trends sends both as soon as your payment clears. If an app offers both, use the Xtream Codes login: it loads the channel groups and the TV guide together. See M3U vs Xtream Codes.
Which device to choose
A Fire TV Stick is the cheapest good option; an Android box with Ethernet is best for sport. Full comparison: IPTV box buying guide.
TV without HDMI
Older tube or early flat TVs only have AV (red, white, yellow) inputs. An HDMI-to-AV converter costs little and lets a stick work, but the picture will be standard definition.
