Enigma2 IPTV Setup: Add IPTV Bouquets Step by Step

Quick answer

To add IPTV to an Enigma2 receiver, find the box IP address under Menu, Information, Network, connect to it from a computer with Telnet or SSH (PuTTY on Windows, Terminal on Mac), paste the Enigma2 command from your IPTV provider, then restart the GUI. The IPTV channels appear as new bouquets in your channel list.

How IPTV works on Enigma2

Enigma2 is the Linux-based software used by satellite receivers such as Vu+, Zgemma, Dreambox, Octagon and Edision. It shows channels as "bouquets". IPTV channels are added as extra bouquet files, which is why the setup is done from a computer rather than with an app.

Before you start

  • Connect the receiver to your router with an Ethernet cable.
  • Find its IP address: Menu, Information, Network (the exact menu name varies by image).
  • Ask your provider for the Enigma2 command or bouquet file for your subscription.
  • On Windows, install PuTTY. On Mac and Linux, the built-in Terminal works.

Add IPTV with the provider command

  1. Open PuTTY (or Terminal) and connect to the box IP address using Telnet (port 23) or SSH (port 22).
  2. Log in as root; on most images the password is blank or the one you set on the box.
  3. Paste the full command your provider sent you and press Enter. It downloads your bouquet files to the receiver.
  4. Restart the GUI: Menu, Standby / Restart, Restart GUI (or type init 4 && init 3 if your provider says so).
  5. Open the channel list; new IPTV bouquets appear next to your satellite ones.

Only paste commands that come directly from your IPTV provider, and read them first: a command typed into the box runs with full control of the receiver.

Alternative: a bouquet plugin

Many images offer plugins that build bouquets from an M3U link, so you can update channels from the remote without a computer. Install them only from your image's official feed, then enter your playlist link in the plugin settings.

Getting the TV guide on Enigma2

IPTV bouquets often need a separate guide source. Many images include an EPG import plugin where you add your provider's XMLTV link and set a daily import time. If the guide stays empty, check the box time and time zone, then run the import manually. More in how to fix the IPTV guide.
