MAG box IPTV setup: portal URL step by step
How to set up IPTV on a MAG box: enter the portal URL, reload the portal, fix common MAG errors and use the guide. Works on MAG 322, 324, 424, 524 and more.

Quick answer
To set up IPTV on a MAG box, open Settings, System Settings, Servers, then Portals. Enter a portal name and the portal URL from your provider, including http://, save, and restart the box. Your provider links the subscription to the MAC address printed under the box.

Before you start
- Find the MAC address on the sticker under the MAG box (it starts with 00:1A:79).
- Give it to your IPTV provider so the subscription is linked to your box.
- Get the portal URL from your provider.
Enter the portal URL
- On the MAG remote, press Setup or open Settings.
- Go to System Settings, then Servers, then Portals.
- Portal 1 name: type any name.
- Portal 1 URL: type the full address including http://.
- Press OK to save, go back and choose Restart portal.
Use the guide
Once the portal loads, open TV, choose a category and press the EPG button on the remote to see the programme guide.
Common MAG box errors
| Message | Fix |
|---|---|
| STB blocked | The MAC address is not linked or the subscription has ended; contact your provider. |
| Loading portal stuck | Check the URL, restart the box and router. |
| No channels | Reload the portal; check the MAC address with your provider. |
| Picture freezes | Use the Ethernet port; see IPTV buffering fixes. |
No MAG box? Use an STB emulator
STB emulator apps on Android imitate a MAG box with a virtual MAC address. They are useful if your provider only offers portal access, but a normal player with an Xtream login is usually simpler.
MAG boxes and IPTV Trends
IPTV Trends supports MAG boxes: message @host4k on Telegram with your box's MAC address and you receive the portal details. Plans are on the pricing page.
MAG models and their menus
Older MAG models such as the 254 and 256 use a slightly different settings layout from the 322, 324, 424 and 524, but the path is the same idea: settings, then servers or portals, then the portal URL. If a menu name differs on your box, look for "Servers" and "Portals".
Restarting and reloading the portal
- Restart portal: reloads the channel list without restarting the box; use it after changing settings.
- Reboot: a full restart from the settings menu or by unplugging the power; use it if the portal hangs.
- Reset to defaults: only as a last resort; you will need to enter the portal again.
Network settings on a MAG box
MAG boxes are designed for a wired connection: use the Ethernet port wherever you can. If you must use Wi-Fi, some models accept a USB Wi-Fi adapter, but expect more buffering during busy evenings.
Fixing the time and guide
If the guide shows the wrong times, open the system settings, set the correct time zone and NTP time server, then restart the portal. The guide uses the box's clock to line up programmes.
MAG setup checklist
- MAC address given to your provider.
- Portal URL entered with http:// and saved.
- Box connected by Ethernet.
- Time zone set correctly.
- Portal restarted after any change.
