IPTV Not Working on Mobile Data: Causes and Fixes

Quick answer

If IPTV works on Wi-Fi but not on mobile data, check that the app is allowed to use mobile data, turn off data saver or Low Data Mode, and test with a VPN, since some carriers block or slow video streams. Lowering the stream quality also helps on weak signal.

Mobile networks add their own rules: data saver modes, video limits and sometimes blocks. Work through these in order.

Phone settings

  1. Android:Settings > Apps > [app] > Mobile data, allow background and foreground data, and turn off Data Saver.
  2. iPhone:Settings > Cellular, enable the app and turn off Low Data Mode.
  3. Restart the phone.

Carrier limits

Some carriers limit video speed or block certain servers. If a VPN makes it work, the carrier is the cause. Check your plan for video resolution caps too.

Watch your data

Live TV uses a lot of data: roughly 1 to 3 GB an hour in HD. See how much data does IPTV use before watching a whole match on mobile.

If none of this helps, message @host4k on Telegram with your device, app, the channel name and the exact error. That lets the team check the server side straight away.
